If you have ever had to make an insurance claim, you’ve probably had to deal with a Loss Adjuster.
Loss Adjusters are usually appointed and paid by insurers to deal with claims. Because of this many Loss Adjusters aren’t independent as such.
The following statement was taken from a presentation made by a firm of loss adjusters, called “Claims – An Insiders View – Secrets of The Trade”. This is freely available on the web.
The slide reads as follows:
IN OTHER WORDS
“A chartered loss adjuster is someone who gives the insured half of what they ask for, yet leave them with the feeling that they have received twice what they deserve”
This makes shocking reading and alarms bells should be ringing in the industry. The public need to be made aware of this attitude towards ordinary people.
We will be referring this statement to The Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters and the appropriate authorities for comment.
