Insurers cutting corners, and how to avoid it.

A Loss Adjuster recently told our client that when replacing a water-damaged ceiling, that they would not remove the coving, but would simply plaster up to it (in order to cut costs).  This is poor practice as the coving will lose definition and may have damp trapped behind it. We argued the case on behalf of our client, and eventually got the insurance company to agree to have the coving replaced and the walls re-decorated. The result is a happy customer with their home correctly reinstated.
