Storm Angus Sweeps Across South of England
This weekend the first of the Winter storms lashed Southern parts of Britain with torrential rain and gusts of up to 84mph causing flash flooding and storm damage to many parts.
Brighton received nearly three times the average rainfall for the whole month in 11 days, causing the Environment Agency to issue flood warnings in the area.
Whilst high winds caused widespread damage across the region. Scaffolding blown from a home in Brighton crushed a car, whilst firefighters efforts to extinguish a fire in a building on Bognor seafront were hampered by the gales.
A takeaway and a disused nightclub were also victim to the storms as they suffered extensive damage, which caused the need to evacuate 30 residents from neighbouring flats.
Not only did the storms bring misery to commuters having to battle bad traffic in less than ideal conditions, but many homes suffered significant damage due to the storm.
Homeowners now face the stressful process of returning their homes to normality, as quickly as possible, whilst also having to deal with insurers to make a claim on buildings insurance.
